EU-China-US relations in a changing global context (by invitation only)

With US President Trump’s inauguration on 20th January 2025, the upcoming year will likely see more disruptive changes in an already complex geopolitical landscape, especially when it comes to US relations with both China and the EU. Faced with war on its borders and economic uncertainty at home, the new European Commission is acutely aware that the EU will need to have greater control of its own destiny. How should it navigate its relations with its key ally, the United States, and China, to its advantage?

This event will bring together policymakers, analysts, and experts to assess the implications of the new US administration on transatlantic and EU-China relations, examine the priorities of the new European Commission vis-à-vis China and explore broader international relations and potential new perspectives for the EU’s engagement with China.
